Data protection

Our commitment

RACED collects the minimum data needed for its activities and protects it in line with Law no. 2017-20 of 20 April 2018 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin, in particular Book V on the protection of personal data, under the supervision of the Personal Data Protection Authority (APDP).

Data collected on this site

Forms (contact, volunteering, donation, newsletter): name, email address, phone number and organisation when you provide them, and the content of your message. This data is used only to reply to you, process your application or donation, or send you the newsletter if you asked for it.

This site sets no advertising cookies and uses no third-party audience measurement tool. Technical providers (form delivery, online payment) may set cookies strictly necessary to their operation.

Data of our project participants

In our projects we record information on participants (identity, plot location, activities, photos) with their consent, for monitoring, evaluation and accountability to our partners. This data is stored on secure tools (KoboToolbox), accessible only to authorised staff, and is never sold. Published photographs are used with the consent of the people shown.

Retention periods

Contact messages: for the time needed to handle the request, then at most one year. Applications: twelve months. Project data: the duration of the project and of reporting obligations to funders, then anonymised archiving.

Your rights

You may request access to, rectification, erasure or restriction of processing of your data, or object to its use, by writing to infos@raced.ong or by post to RACED's main office in Cotonou. We reply within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the APDP.
